LONDON: 6 December 2023
Starling Bank has announced a global alliance with PwC to support its Software-as-a-Service business, Engine by Starling.
Engine provides banks with access to the cloud native, modular and API-based banking platform initially built by Starling’s own in-house tech team to run the digital bank. Engine is now available to banks around the globe and has recently announced its first two clients: Salt Bank in Romania and AMP Bank in Australia.
The new alliance between Engine and PwC builds on Starling’s long-standing relationship with the consultancy firm, and it will see PwC act as the first strategic partner for integration and implementation services for banks that adopt the Engine platform.
It will also enable PwC to enhance its digital banking offering to clients in multiple regions around the globe.
Sam Everington, CEO of Engine by Starling, said: “Partnering with PwC, a leader in professional services, will be crucial in helping to deliver Engine, our cutting-edge digital banking platform, to customers around the world. PwC combines an incredible breadth of strategic knowledge with hands-on experience driving business model transformations using the Engine platform.”
Steve Davies, Partner and Digital Banking Lead, PwC UK, said: “By forming an alliance with Engine, we can offer an even greater range of technology-enabled solutions to help clients deliver high quality digital banking to their customers and remarkable employee experiences, while also saving costs and driving up productivity. By expanding our existing capability to include Engine, we are continuing to be at the forefront of the latest digital banking technology innovation.”
Engine by Starling is a SaaS technology provider with the goal of bringing its modern banking platform to banks around the world. The Engine platform, built to power Starling Bank in the UK, is modular, API-based, cloud-native and a proven technology at scale.
