Firstly, tell us a little bit about you and how you became a Mobile Engineer?

From a young age I was intrigued by how things worked. I would frequently take things apart and subsequently fail to put them back together to my parents’ delight. I feel this was the earliest indication that I would probably become an engineer of some form in the future.

As time passed and my addiction to gaming grew larger, I found myself tinkering with the modification of games and hardware. This led me to want to work with computers in one way or another. When the time came, I enrolled onto a computing course at my local college. Whilst there, a fellow student showed me their latest creation. It was a basic card game they had created for their new Android smartphone. Determined to produce something similar, I set about attempting to learn Java and Android development with no experience. As the months passed and not much progress was made, I eventually gave up. Who would have thought that trying to learn a programming language and mobile technology from scratch would be so difficult?

As part of a university course I was yet again faced with the task of building a mobile application. Given I now had a bit of experience building software, I was better prepared and was even surprised by how much I could remember from my previous failed attempts.

This turned out to be my favourite module and thus a future career was born.
